Community

Taking responsibility for the community involves accepting common rules as well as a willingness to cooperate and communicate.

We make this a reality

• with our school as a common place of living and learning;
• with agreed rules for coexisting;
• by creating a culture of appreciation, identification with the school community and a team spirit, which are developed on the basis of social activities and day-to-day interaction;
• by treating one another politely and respectfully, which involves giving praise and recognition in face-to-face encounters;
• by actively creating opportunities to live and experience community.

Tolerance

Tolerance and humanity in the treatment of others form the foundation of all our actions. This provides the basis for a peaceful, trusting coexistence.

We advocate for this by

• treating others without prejudice and being open to different opinions, origins, religions or orientations;
• embracing diversity among people as a positive thing;
• opening up our school to the outside world in order to broaden horizons for students and teachers;
• teaching intercultural skills so that our students can play an active role in shaping the Europe of tomorrow;
• providing freedom to each individual in the context of other’s rights and the applicable rules.

Humanity

We advocate for this by

• fostering peaceful coexistence and taking steps against all forms of violence, bullying and discrimination;
• cultivating the social skills of our students using appropriate teaching methods and materials;
• nurturing our students’ ability to engage in dialogue, to talk to one another rather than about one another and to express constructive criticism as well as having the courage to listen to it.
